May Quiz Result / June Contest

Hi all

MAY QUIZ

All the answers have been checked and I can announce that there was just one entrant who had everything right.

The winner of the May quiz was WBruce - well done !!

Thanks everyone who took part - we had a good number of entries and I was impressed with the standard, most people had almost everything right and I had to be very ruthless in my marking, giving half points where there were obvious mistakes in part of the 'two part' answers, but giving allowance for typos.

I will post a blog tomorrow with all the answers and a few points (mentioning no names) as to where people went wrong.

JUNE CONTEST

A reminder regarding the 1st week

What you will need to do during week 1 is:

1. Post 1 brickwall, as detailed as possible, in the Regular Chatter's Surnames & WebSites under the June BrickWall Section and copy and paste that same message into the Brickwall Message Board (under country you are looking in) on the main part of Looking 4 Kin. (This must be something within reason not someone who we would have no resources to try and help you)

2. You must check the posting and reply to anyone who responds to your post.

3. Stop into the chatroom for at least 15 Minutes three times this week (with summer we know you are busier) to further discuss this, or try to help others.

You will get an entry:

1. For your posting.

2. For each person you try to help anywhere on the Regular Chatter's Surnames & WebSites Message Board or the Brickwall Message Board on the main part of Looking 4 Kin.

I saw there was one comment on the blog about not being able to find the Regular Chatter's Surnames and Websites Links ... M's reply was as follows ...

You will find this below the chat room on the chat page.

Once registered there you will see June Brickwall near the top section of the message board.

Remember

1 - You must post your entries in both the 'regular chatter's June brickwall section' (mentioned above) and the brickwall forum which you will find in the main links.

2 - If you have posted a brickwall in the past, don't worry ... update it a wee bit as necessary and copy/paste the result into the regular chatter's section - you are not expected to come up with a completely new request.

Hint - if you copy your old post before deleting and reposting it, your new posting will come out at the top of the pile. (If you have problems with this have a word with Just_M in chat or send an e mail to Just_M through the 'contact me' section on the links pages).

3 - Make sure you give enough information - It is no good saying 'I am looking for SMITH in London England' - you stand no chance of getting any help at all ... give all the information you know including ...

Who you are looking for
Where they lived (or where the family was last seen in records)
When, approximately, they lived
and
What information you are hoping to find
