Hi

There is more info we need to be able to help you find Christian Schroeder
Do you know where in Germany they are from?
How do you know they came in 1854?
Are you sure when they came from Germany they went straight to Freeport (Stephenson County) Illinois?
Do you have Census on them?
If they came in 1854 and straight to Illinois there is a 1855 Illinois State census Do you have that?
also do you have the 1860,1870,1880,1900, and the 1910 census on them?

If you can let us know what you have on them it will help us help you on what you are needing

Augusta was born in Waldeck so I assume they came from that area. Her obit says that they came in 1854, the family locating in Stephenson County, Ill near Freeport.
The 1st census I have is 1880 and she is already married and living in Mt. Morris with Fred Bearman and children. I found her in no other census. Fred Bearman died in april 1886 and she married Fredrick Lohafer in Feb 1898, he died the following year. The Bearmans had 11 children, Frederick C Bearman 1856 – 1917, Herman C Bearman 1858 – 1959, Henry D Bearman 1859 – 1947, Minnie Bearman 1863 – , Miller Bearman 1864 – 1864, William C Bearman 1865 – 1949, August Bearman 1868 – , Frank Bearman 1870 – 1935, Dora Bearman 1871 – , Louise A Bearman 1873 – 1948, George Bearman 1876 – , John Bearman 1878 – She was living with her son Henry and his family when she died. (The 1900 census shows her). Christian and Dorothea are mentioned in 2 other family trees on ancestry but it says he was born in abt 1825 in
Duasel Prussianew and his Deathwas in Erin Twp., Macomb, Michigan, United States, Spouse Dorothea Schroeder (1829-) Children Hennry (1856-) Louise (1862-) Maria (1864-) Christian (1866-) Joseph (1869-) If Augusta was born in 1835 Christian was 10.

I have a copy of the church register from when she married Mr. Lohafer and she lists Christian Schroeder and Dorothea Suthers as her parents.
Her funeral was at the Zion Evangelic church and she is buried in the Adeline Cemetery (have headstone photos). I also have a German document that starts Augusta Lohafer mentions Bierman, DOB, Waldeck, DOD bu I can't read the rest of it.

Her death certificate also lists Christian Schroeder but no mother, Country of origin for both is listed as unknown.

Nothing I can find with Christian has Augusta tied to it but I have his name on a few of her documentation...

I really appreciate your help with this.

The only boat manifest I found a n Augusta was as a servant but she wasn't traveling with a Christian. I am making a few calls tomorrow to Illinois.....If the 2 of them came alone I can't imagine him leaving Illinois but maybe after she married he did too and went to Wisconsin (I found a Christian Schroeder there.

This Dorothea was born in 1829 and Augusta in 1835..thats only six years and according to the obit Dorothea died in Germany.

Her death cert lists Christian Schroeder and also her marriage register to Fredrick lohafer lists Christian Schroeder and Dorothea Suthers.  I can not find him anywhere.  Not in  census, death records, SS Death Index, passanger list nada.  He got off the boat and apparently vanished.
