Can you tell us more about him. Name, who he married,  anything to tell us more about him and hopefully someone can come up with something

He was married to Agnes Duncan who was his second wife.  This was her second marriage as well and she was previously married to George Lowe in Tarves, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. R. T. was first married to a Mary Cunningham. Agnes and R. T. had William, who died when he was 8.  Not sure what of. Other children were Frank, Grace, Herbert Howard, Bertha, Robert Bruce (my grandfather), and George.

Well what ever it was it didn't make the papers and most criminal  acts did, real and  made up.. how odd......how do you know he was there, family lore or is there some paper work you have that lists him?
