Helping hands helping one another with our family history & genealogy research.
Hi; I am trying to do further research into the Grandparents of my Great Grandmother;
They are:
Pierre Lanoue
&
Mary Doane.
In a baptismal records from Nova Scotia Canada in 1799; both Mary Doane Lanoue and her daughter Susanne Lanoue were baptisted the same day. This record was later translated from French but the priest wrote Mary's name down in English; as Mary Doane and stated that she was baptisted having (for lack of proper words) recinded on her Puritan Baptism and upbringing and that she was the legal wife of Pierre Lanoue. In all records after she is down as "Marie" or "Marguerite".
I know that Pierre Lanoue was deported to Massachusetts (Chatham maybe? or nearby) in the mid-late 1700's. All info I have found for the parents of Mary Doane on ancestry points to her parents being Joseph Doane & Mary Mayo. I am trying to find more records and info to support this.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
