Researching the famly of Richard Friend Stroud born 21 January 1882, Leicester, Leicestershire, England married Gladys Amelia Halford in January-March 1915 District Rugby, Warwickshire. He died 5 January 1956 and was buried 7 January 1956 in the Mountain Home, Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He had 4 children that I know about Mary H. born 1916, Betty B. born 1918, Elise H. born 1919 and Richard F. born 1929. Would love to find more about this family as its the first US connection I have made with my tree to date.
From what I can find out he was in the mint distilling business and even invented a portable mint distiller. It appears he first arrived in the US in 1909 he then goes back to England where he marries. He then returns to the US and lived in the Kalamzoo area. I would love to make contact with any of his children or grandchildlren to help bring this line up to date. His mother was Lavinia Ellen Friend her father Richard Benjamin Friend is my great granduncle.
