Helping hands helping one another with our family history & genealogy research.
I am looking for information regarding the Pelley's of Wellington/Dover Newfoundland. They are my grandmother and grandfather. His name was German Pelley and her name was Amelia (Short) Pelley. I believe she
was originallly from Hans Harbor/Trinity Bay. She might have been born around 1870. Not sure about
my grandfather give maybe 4 0r 5 more years to that. He owned lumber mills.
Does anyone know anything about the Pelleys love to hear something.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Pennell Zikmanis

Permalink Reply by Hill on January 31, 2013 at 6:01am that should answer the question of when your Grandfather German was born about 1870 according to his border crossing and the 1930 census which you have now said was his twin brother Norman.
The information provided by Al Parsons post your Grandmother Amelia was widowed in the 1935 Census, also burial information.
Also providing the information on their son Victor.
Using the Link that Al Parsons provided in his post and the links Just M provides in this group, hopefully more information can be found.
Is this the brother John Pelley, the only one in Worcester,Ma https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M22Y-WBG
