Helping hands helping one another with our family history & genealogy research.
Hi I just joined. A little background on me:
My name is Susan (from birth it was Susann - two n's). I was born to a woman by the name of Sally Ann DiDomenico (maiden: Esposito) on June 14, 1969. Her parents were Joseph and Mary Esposito. Joseph and Mary lived at 184 Main St Cliffside Park NJ. It is unclear where Sally Ann lived when I was born. I am to believe (like so many other lies) that when I was born, she and her children (listed below) lived on Adams Street. This may be in West New York, NJ...not quite sure. At the time I was born, Sally Ann was married to a man by the name of Richard DiDomenico (he died in VA in 1971 - verified by SSA). This man IS NOT my father (also verified by SSA). The best information I have to date is that my father's first name is Cesar (Cesare, Ceasar) and that he was very tall, Hispanic and had very dark skin. I did speak with one Sally Ann's sisters, Patty Jesuele, and she indicated that he may have gone back to "his country." Not really sure what that means. She also told me that he did know that Sally Ann was pregnant and was there when I was born he, apparently, played with me and Sally's other children. He is even remembered by one of Sally's nieces - LuciAnn.
I was 37 years old when I found out that Richard DiDomenico WAS NOT my father. Sally Ann died in 1990 and took the truth with her. Her children all have CONVENIENT amnesia and her only living sister says she is just too old to remember simple facts like: where I was born! At this point, I cannot even get a birth certificate for myself as I do not know which city I was born in. Please, please... any help/lead that could help me find out just WHO I AM would be so very appreciated!
Here is a list of Sally Ann's known relatives,
Her children:
Salvatore DiDomenico - born February 16, either 1960 or 1961
Toni DiDomenico - born June 17, not sure of the year
Michael DiDomenico - November 20, 1964 I think!
Mary DiDomenico - November 2, 1965
Susann UNKN - June 14, 1969 <-----This is ME!
Her Siblings:
Rose "Honey" Ritter (Married to Paul Ritter of Mac Trucks; both are now deceased)
--- Children: Harry and AnnMarie
Patty Jesuele (Married to John Jesuele; John is deceased, she still lives in NJ)
--- Children: LuciAnn and Mary
Her Parents:
Joseph and Mary Esposito (both deceased)
Her Grandmother:
Pasqualina Jesuele - She came here from Florence Italy. (died in February of 1983)
Here is a bit of what happened after I was born, Sally eventually left NJ with her children and her new husband: Carlos Gongora. I was still pretty much a baby when they married and this man tried to claim me as his own, but THAT has long ago been dis-proven. She and her family, me included, moved to the Beach in Miami, FL where I was raised.
A few things about me from stories passed down: I was once bitten by a German Shepherd in the derriere :) Also, we lived near an African American family with twin girls and one of them once threw a rock that hit me in the head. It may be that the dog belonged to that family - not sure of that. But maybe this information can jog the memory of someone and you remember us????
If you have gotten this far in the read, I thank you very much. Again, if you have any kind of info or lead, please contact me. Thanks!
Susan Rainer

Permalink Reply by Eliz on October 1, 2011 at 8:13pm I would start with this your mothers maiden name..and your date of birth, then contact the Hospitals near the places you have mentioned in NJ.. surely with her maiden name and your date of birth they should find your birth record..sadly this is something we can't do here. 1969 is to recent in time for that information to be public, another option contact the state offices in NJ and tell them what you need.
One other thing, the natural fathers name may not be on the birth cert,
try this site:

Permalink Reply by Susan Rainer (DiDomenico) on October 1, 2011 at 8:44pm Yea, I have done all that you suggested... During the 50's and 60's there was a black market baby ring - taking a baby or a twin from a mother and telling her that the child was stillborn and selling the child. Many of the hospitals in that area have destroyed any and all records from 30, 20 and even 10 years back. Also without a city of birth, I cannot get a birth certificate in the state of New Jersey. Posting here was the beginning to my end. I have totally exhausted all other avenues.
Thanks for your ~ help.

Permalink Reply by Eliz on October 2, 2011 at 9:23am Have you considered that possibly you weren't born in NJ? Contact NYS and see if they have a birth record...

Permalink Reply by Susan Rainer (DiDomenico) on October 15, 2011 at 10:52am Much of my memories were "fed" to me... there are things that have been told to me repeatedly over the course of my childhood that either are not true or the timing is WAY off.
The oldest really does remember - it's just 1 - he has "sainted" her...she could do no wrong and what she has left me with is of no consequence to him; and 2 - if you've not gone through it, you really don't know what it's like thereby minimizing its effect, he knows who his father is and can obtain his own birth certificate.
He refuses to answer my calls and purposefully made himself disappear from all things internet. If I am to find out anything, it is up to me to dig, dig, dig and investigate until I am blue in the face.

I guess if I were you I would start looking in old directories in the area where your mother lives for a man called Cesar, Cesare, Ceasar
Good luck
