Hello Amdabrock

Will need more information.

Who are Rose White parents?  Was the marriage in New York or Penn.? also what information did the marriage record provide. Was there any children born to this marriage? What Census year are you looking at that gives Rose's birth year & place?

In other words,tell us what you have and we can proceed from there.

I have no information on roseann white carman. The 1910 census for the town of Hector,Schuyler county new york has lewis and roseann carman with four children the eldest is my paternal grandmother. the name is misspelled, it should be martha. all of the information I have comes from that census.

In the 1910 census he is 28 she is 27 They state they have been married 6 years which makes 1904 correct but she would not have been 15 but rather 21 (Unless it is late and my eyes seeing strange things the 1 looks like a 7)

Do you have a copy of the actual census or just a transcript?

I have a copy of the census M . I'm pretty certain of the birth date because it says they have been married for six years. In a latter census and a second marriage she reports that she was first married at 15. hill tells me her second marriage probably took place in penn.

Did she die 14 May 1942? If so do you have that death record?

Did she marry a 2nd time to George Compton? If so you have that marriage record?

according to son William Carman marriage to Margaret Berry on 16 April 1928,witness are Martha Brockway and Rose Crompton. Still looking for a marriage for Rose White Carman to a Compton,but I thought I would post to establish a timeline.

1920 Census has Rose married to a George Compton but in Penn.also child Walter Carman born 1907,daughter Mae Compton born 1919

1925 Census New York also has two of the Carman children. Agnes born 1910 & Ethel born 1914

1930 Census New York

1940 Census New York

Thinking Marriage could be in Penn between 1914 & 1919 based on Census information.

thank you hill. yes this is my great grandmother. I'm fairly certain that her birth date is 1989. you could be right about her second marriage being in penn.,but what information could pertain to her first marriage?

Based on the Census posted Rose was born 1888 - 1889,the 1930 & 1940 Census states place of birth in Pennsylvania.

As for the marriages,based on information found on the Census.

First marriage to Lewis Carman  and second marriage to George Compton. I have looked on Family Search in New York and Pennsylvania with no success.

Thinking you may need to contact the libraries in both states or if you get a chance ask in the chat to see if one of the US Researchers could be of aid.
