Helping hands helping one another with our family history & genealogy research.
I have been struggling with a family brick wall for some time now and wonder if anyone can offer suggestions that may help?
My Father's family, Beebe, were born and raised in the Hamilton, Clermont and Adams counties of Ohio. I have not been able to trace his grandfather, Samuel Beebe, back to New Jersey. According to numerous Census documents he was born 1815 -1817 in New Jersey. He married Susannah Weller (sp) in Cincinnati in 1839.
I have been able to piece the family together going "forward" from Samuel but keep hitting my head on the brick wall going "back" to New Jersey?
I have done research on other families that the Beebe's married into in Ohio and have acquired some history of the area that I am quite willing to use to help others.

Permalink Reply by Harry on February 24, 2012 at 7:05pm I have Samuel as being born about 1815 and death 22 Dec 1885 in Cincinnati and buried in Hamilton County?
I have Susannah as being born "about" 1920 and dying between 1881 and 1890?
There certainly was family in West Union. In fact that is where my Father was born.
Samuel and Susannah lived most of their life in Cin.

Permalink Reply by Harry on February 25, 2012 at 2:41pm Thanks for your assistance of yesterday, I do appreciate it.
It would appear that Samuel was the first of the family to move to Cincinnati about 1839 plus or minus? As you know the 1840 census, as well as those prior to, only included the head of the household name so it is difficult to decipher the families. There are a couple of Beebe families living in nearby Clermont County that appear to have moved from NJ. I suspect that Samuel was from one of those but so far I have not been able to verify that, or disprove it either?
Thanks again for your kind help,
