I have been struggling with a family brick wall for some time now and wonder if anyone can offer suggestions that may help?

My Father's family, Beebe, were born and raised in the Hamilton, Clermont and Adams counties of Ohio. I have not been able to trace his grandfather, Samuel Beebe, back to New Jersey. According to numerous Census documents he was born 1815 -1817 in New Jersey. He married Susannah Weller (sp) in Cincinnati in 1839.

I have been able to piece the family together going "forward" from Samuel but keep hitting my head on the brick wall going "back" to New Jersey?

I have done research on other families that the Beebe's married into in Ohio and have acquired some history of the area that I am quite willing to use to help others.

Oh.....that makes things extremely difficult!

I did notice poking around that most if not all the Beebe's originally hailed from CT in the US

Now some one did reply to you  on Ancestry boards, back in 2009, or at least I am thinking it was you:about Cemetery records so I checked it out

I don't see Susannah  so perhaps these are some of the Children.. might not hurt to contact the cemetery and see what records they have.

Hi, I found this information in Hamilton County, Ohio Burial Records, Volume 1, Wesleyan Cemetery 1842-1971:

Beebe, Samuel
Age - 67
Date of death or interment - December 25, 1885
Beebe Lot 27, Section E

also listed in the replys:

I found on www.familysearch.org a record stating that Samuel Beebe married Susannah Weller on May 14, 1839. Just to confuse things a little, the Hamilton County Ohio Genealogy Society website - www.hcgsohio.org - has an index of marriages by decade (click on Databases and then on Record Indexes) and it shows that Samuel Beebe married Susannah Wheeler (could just be a transcription error) sometime during 1830-1839.

I have seen the list from the Wesleyan Cemetery before. I believe that the 1 year old Samuel (1845) was probably a child of Samuel and Susannah. Possibly the still born as well? There were no other Beebe couples in Cin. at that time. Their family had no living children between 1842 and 1847 so I suspect these are a fit, unproven of course?

I think that Samuel died while living in Cin and was subsequently buried there. I also think that she moved to nearby Adams county with her son Joseph and died there. The last records of her that I have found are in Cin. in 1890 living with her son Samuel J. That is from the Cincinnati directory.

I too have seen the record of marriage with the Wheeler spelling but also think it was a transcribing error?

Somewhere there has to be some hidden clues to this puzzle?

Did you ever find out if Samuel had brothers or sisters

Not confirmed no......
