Your Welcome, Jesse has a lot of history you have hit the jackpot with him since there is a lot of info on him or so there appears to be, there are several books at the Toronto Library on him as well.  The reason why I remember his name is because my ggg-grandmother's surname was Ketchum when I seen Jesse Plaque I had hoped there might be a connection but there doesn't appear to be one.  My Ketchum all seem to have stayed in the US. I'm a little curious now so when I go to the Library I'll take a look and see what comes up on him.

Hey there just checked out the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid and there is a James Scott there husband of Janet Morison (their spelling) they are buried at Mount Forest Cemetery. Elgin County.  Now of course this could be another James Scott with a wife named Janet Morison but I'm guessing this would be who you are looking for.

This is an interesting clue.  I have found more than one wrong James married to a Janet, particularly one who was born around 1814.  I assume there would be a death certificate associated with this burial.  Do you know where I could inquire about getting a genealogy (un-certified) copy?  I'm not familiar with Canadian protocol regarding records of death certificates.  In the States, they're usually available from the State records.  My James and Janet seemed to have lived mostly around Wellington, Ontario.  There're also references to Mount Forest, Wellington, Ontario.  I can find a Wellington, Ontario, in MapQuest, but not Mount Forest, Wellington, Ontario, so I'm not sure that Mount Forest is in existence any more.  At any rate, the reference you mentioned, Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid, is one I wasn't aware of and will most likely use to try to find other family member too.  Thanks for your help with this.

I've did a print screen of the search and have attached what comes up with the Ont Cemetery Finding Aid search.  There is some confusion with this cemetery, my searches are showing two different Cemeteries with the same name that I think are actually the same Cemetery I think is shown with the County and the other with the Township.  The Ont Genealogy Cemetery Cemetery Search shows a result for a Cemetery that might be the right one it matches the County and Township it also shows other names for the Cemetery which might make it easier to find a transcript.

I would guess that you would find other family as well through this search and also using the Ont Genealogy Society Search they both sometimes have the same listings or one has it and other doesn't.  If you go to the Ont Genealogy Society web page under resources you can search by name of person and you can also search only for Cemeteries which will provide address.  I found both very useful and I usually search both for names of people I'm searching for.

I go to the archives here in Toronto about once a month I might go on Friday since I have a day off so I could search the death index for you for a cert of death if there isn't one on Ancestry the problem is we need to narrow down the date of death first that's why I was hoping we could get a transcript to look at. Check the link out below its for the Field of Stones web page they have a section where people volunteer to do a transcript lookup for various cemeteries and there is one lady that will do one for this cemetery her name is half way down the page next to Grey County her name is Janet Jones, if you e-mail her she might have Janet and James name in the transcript which will provide date of death info and who else is buried with them from there we can try and find a cert of death to confirm they are who your looking for.
