Jacob ARNEY, died in Lincoln County, North Carolina 1782/1784.
Jacob ARNEY was in the York(town), York County, Pennsylvania, at least between 1749-1761. Four of his "known" children were born in the area: Christian "Christy" ARNEY, Sr., born in 1750, Adam Lawrence ARNEY, born in 1751, Johann Heinrich "Henry" ARNEY, Sr., born in 1755, and Anna Elisabeth ARNEY, born in 1761. Around 1767, Jacob ARNEY and family leave the area, moving to the area of Tryon County, North Carolina, which later became Lincoln County, North Carolina. Jacob ARNEY, purchases 200 acres of land, in Tryon County, North Carolina, in 1772. Jacob ARNEY, has two of his "known" children: Peter ARNEY, born in 1772, and Catherine ARNEY, born in 1774.
Jacob ARNEY's Will, still exists, and resides in the NCSA (North Carolina State Archives), in Raleigh, North Carolina. Unfortunately, much of the ink has faded over time, so it only reveals the name of his wife, Elizabeth, at the time of the writing of the Will.
The reason he has been designated as my "brick-wall", is that I'm trying to find out who his siblings were, who his parents were, where was Jacob ARNEY born, where was his siblings born, where was his parents born, etc.
Unfortunately, several decades ago, researchers of this branch of the ARNEY's made a critical error. Back in the 1950's, a few people researching my Jacob ARNEY, mistakenly connected him to a Frederick Ernigh, who arrived in the USA, September 11, 1732. This Frederick Ernigh arrived with his wife, one son, and one daughter. This Frederick Ernigh, did have a son named Jacob, however this Jacob died in 1776, leaving behind a Widow (Barbara), and an unborn son, Frederick. This Frederick Ernigh and family lived in the areas of Colebrookdale Twp, in Berks County, Pennsylvania and Douglass Twp, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, these two townships and counties were literally, side by side.
My Jacob ARNEY, lived in the area of York(town), York County, Pennsylvania, at least between 1749-1761, before leaving the state, and moving to North Carolina, where he died in Lincoln County, 1782/1784.
I have tried, several times, to obtain a descent copy of Jacob ARNEY's Will, from the North Carolina State Archives, but each time, the ink, on the upper 1/3-1/2 of the Will is simply unreadable. It's still there, just faded enough, to not be able to make it out.
Also, finding any, what I term "DTP" (Definitive Tangible Proof) which consists of (but not limited to) birth/baptism records, marriage records, tax rolls/lists, probate records, death records, land deals (purchases/sales), etc.
I know, if I can find them, many answers, should be found, in/near York(town), York County, Pennsylvania.
Finding out about Jacob ARNEY, his siblings, parents, etc., would be like finding or solving (this branch) ARNEY Holy Grail.

Q? How would you attempt Genealogy Networking?
During these difficult financial times, we simply don't have the financial resources to traipse around the Country visiting libraries, etc. or to pay for "time & copies" from those libraries or Genealogy Societies, etc. At least, I don't have the finances, I can't speak for the rest of you.Anyways.I simply cannot make anymore "headway" when it comes to researching my ARNEY surname, w/o assistance.I had "hoped" to find, other active researchers, doing the same research, that lived in designated areas of interest, that might be willing to do the "leg work" and share their results, but alas, I haven't found anyone, period. After all, it would be mutually beneficial, to the overall research. However, 99.99% of the people I meet online, are doing other research, and my family surname, may crop up, once in their line, so they have limited interest, if you know what I mean. The people that once were actively researching, have since retired, lost interest, completed as much as they intend to, passed away, etc.So, how would you go about setting up a much needed Genealogy Network, to try to actively work on researching a specific surname?Example: My surname, lived in the areas of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. I have traced them back to Pennsylvania, but there's where I hit a "snag" (aka "brick wall"). They were "supposedly" in York(town), York County, Pennsylvania, at least between 1749-1767, but finding documentation of this is "fleeting" at best.How would you proceed?Thank you, for your time, consideration, and cooperation, I truly appreciate it. -

Jacob Arney married Anna Ursula KRON (1722-1761)
[b]Anna Ursula KRON[/b], arrived in the USA, from Essenhiem, Germany, in 1741, with her family.
Jacob and Anna Ursula had, at least, 4 children, born in the area of Yorktown, York County, Pennsylvania.
[b]Christian "Christy" Arney, Sr. [/b](1750-1834), died in Lincoln County, North Carolina
[b]Adam "Lawernce" Arney[/b] (1751-1802), died in Burke County, North Carolina
[b]Johann Heinrich "Henry" Arney, Sr.[/b] (1755-1830), died in Owen County, Indiana
[b]Anna Elisabeth Setzer/Setser [/b](1761-1849), died in Caldwell County, North CarolinaIt's believed the family, left Pennsylvania, around 1767, moving to the area of Tryon County, North Carolina.
York County, Pennsylvania was created from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1749.
So, it's possible the family was actually living in Lancaster County, until the creation of York County.
Yorktown would have been in Lancaster County, until 1749, then would be in York County, Pennsylvania.
We know that Jacob's 1st Wife, Anna Ursula KRON, arrived in the United States, in 1741.
How long it took her to get together with Jacob and marry, is unknown.In order to solve this mystery, of Jacob Arney, it's going to take a concerted effort, with people willing to collaborate, and genealogically "hammer" the areas of Lancaster County, PA, & York County, PA, until the truth can be learned.
