Hi Folks, anyone researching the Bronson/Brunson/Brownson line? I'm searching for descendants of Daniel Brunson Sr. (1757-1799). Ensign Daniel Brunson fought with the loyalist troops in the revolutionary war and was evacuated as part of the 3rd fleet sailing to New Brunswick in the fall of 1783. He spent only a few years on his script in the Nashwaack valley before moving his young family to Caldwell's Manor in the Eastern Townships. My gggrandfather Martin Brunson (1789-1878) was born at Caldwell's Manor and moved into eastern Ontario eventually homesteading in Hastings Co. on a grant he received for his service in the war of 1812-14. I visited the Missisquoi Museum in Stanbridge East a few years ago and found considerable information on the family. I'm hoping to find some cousins that can help me fill a few gaps.
My husband danny Jarvis is 3rd Great Grandson to Daniel Brownson . Daniel's son Martin Brownson's daughter married William Jarvis 29 Sept 1859. Thanks for the information. My ggrandfather, Oliver 'Lewis' Bronson was Rachel's brother. I have some information on William and Rachel's family and on their son James Wharton (1870-1940) and daughter Sarah Frances. I believe there were a number of other children (Christoper, Thomas, Charlotte, Mary, and Amelia) but I don't have much on them. Where does your husband Danny fit in?
I'm trying to track down descendants of Martin's siblings - James and Alexander.
Also trying to confirm the death and burial place of Daniel Sr. I've found his wife Leah Northcot buried with her second husband (Issac Brevoort) in the third Concession Cem., Noyan Twp., Missusquoi Co., PQ.

I have the petition (1800) and grant documents (1803) for Leah Brevort (Widow of Daniel Brunson Sr.) and her 5 boys and 1 daughter. I haven't been able to find much information on sons Alexander and James... any help would be appreciated.
Hello, my name is Caroline McGillivray, but my maiden name was Brunson. I am descended from the Loyalist Daniel Brunson/Bronson/Brownson. His son Daniel was My G-G-grandfather. This Daniel married Elizabeth (Betsy) Ibey. Their son George Bunson married Mary Dinah Johnson. George and Mary Dinah moved from Missisquoi to Ryde Twp. in Ont about 1879. I have documented my line from Daniel Bunson, and have received a United Empire Loyalist certificate. I have done a lot of research on the Bunsons, and am willing to trade information. Caroline McGillivray UE, Zephyr Ontario.
I'm always delighted to hear from a new cousin! I have seen postings from you in the past in various forums but nothing for the last few years and the only e-mail address I located was rejected. So nice to see that you are still doing research. I discovered a lot of information on George and Dianh from a web site provided by Richard Mount and have pieced additional information together as I came across it. From my data, I believe we are 4th cousins.
I look forward sharing information with you. I collaborate with a few other cousins and share our trees on Ancestry.ca If you would like to send me your e-mail address, I'll grant access for you to have a look and we can go from there.
