What I want for Christmas
I would love to find out more about my great great grandmothers family. Augusta Schroeder, born 5 May 1854 Waldeck und Pyrmont, Germany to Christian Schroeder and Dorothea Suthers. She came to America with her father, her mother passed away in Germany, in 1854. They settled in Stephenson, Illinois and I can find no other information on her father or her mother. I would like to know where she died and is buried, if they had other children, if Christian ever remarried and where he lived and died.
Augusta married my great great grandfather, Friederick Bearman in 1856 and they are as far back as I can go in this branch of the tree.
Both Augusta and Friederick died and are buried in Mt. Morris, Illinois. If she was the only child that came to America with her father I would think he would have stayed close to where she was. I have not been able to find immigration information or naturalization paperwork for Augusta or her father, or Friederick Bearman for that matter.
I am hoping the New Year will bring new insight to me for my missing information

Would you also please post this to the Germany (German) Group? You make no mention of Russia nor Germans from Russia, did one of the surnames SHROEDER / SCHRÖDER, BEARMAN / BERMAN or SUTHERS also come from Russia or Ukraine? If so, could you also post the the Germans From Russia Group?
The area Waldeck und Pyrmont is in present day part of Hesse, so you might also want to post to that group as well Hesse Genealogy.
