Helping hands helping one another with our family history & genealogy research.
hi all
Sophia Dearle was born in the UK (nee George) in 1851 in Chertsey Surrey she married Arthur Baker Dearle in 1875
They had 6 children (that i have found), Ethel, George, Kate, Edith, Walter & Robert Henry
I had a hint on Ancestry that she may be on the 1916 Canada census of Manitoba and the Canadian passenger list 1865-1935
Her parents were Henry George and Euphemia (nee SOUCH )
any info would be very much appreciated on any of them listed above
Thankyou
Zillah
Please note there is also a posting on this subject HERE

Permalink Reply by Hill on May 14, 2012 at 3:31pm Hi Zillah having fun in the chat I see,now I will have to figure out pmsl. Thanks LOL
Now bear with me in he Manitoba Vitals there is Arthur Baker Dearle died 21 Oct 1923 in Fox Warren, Walter Dearle married Marion Macauly 16 Oct 1919 in Winnipeg, George Dearle married Elizabeth Simpson 28 May 1926 in Fox Warren.
Now with the new info I am thinking you should post in the Manitoba Group, see what the members can do for you.Ancestry does have the newspapers for Manitoba & Winnipeg but I cannot seem to find anything. This part of Ancestry is new to me so that could be the problem.
Also what info do you have on the daughters of Arthur Dearle, did they also come to Canada most likely under a married name.
Hope you dont mind me reading the article Jean sent you on the Dearle family, with mention of Arthur & family in Winnipeg, would be best to post in Manitoba never know could make a connection.

I checked on the Canadian Western Land Grantsand found a George and Walter Dearle applied for patents. Liber = Volume and the date range is when the patent was granted. It would appear that George was in Manitoba SW 19-27-8-W1 and Walter was sharing with Knut Nelson Kvitze on NE 31-13-25-W3 which would put him in Saskatchewan. Each of these is a 1/4 section or 160 acres.
