Faunt and Fant
My mother was Elizabeth Faunt.Her grandfather Patrick Faunt was born in Limerick City in 1865 to a soldier William Fant from Fethard Tipperary and his wife Ellen Lynch from Limerick.
My Faunt family were from this area since the 1200s.They built Fantstown Castle and lived in Kilmallock,Limerick and Bansha, Galbally and Fethard Tipperary continuously.In the 1800s they lived on the Cashel Road and were Nailers.
They left Ireland in 1869 and came to Beverly NJ. Others named Fant Faunt and Font left Ireland from 1671 onwards.DNA indicates that most are related.
