I am looking for help with Christine Anderson. She came to the the US in 1891 from Sweden according to the 1920 census. Her oldest daughter Hannah was born in Sweden about 1887. After arrival in Tacoma WA she had 2 additional children, Olga Mabel Anderson B sep 1893 in Tacoma, and Victor W Anderson B abt 1897 in Tacoma.

I have been unable to find out the name of her husband who must have passed between 1896 and 1900 as she's listed as widow in the 1900 census.

I have also been unable to find out when Christine died, she's 72 in the 1930 census.

Thanks

Josh

What about birth records for the kids - they would contain the fathers name?

Did Hannah, Olga or Victor marry? If so do their marriage records contain their parents names?

In 1900 she was widowed

Do you know who her father was? or her Mother?

Have you searched http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/Search

Olga married twice. Both times in Tacoma by the justice of the peace I have both certs, no parents listed. Her first marriage was to Wallace Bertelson in 7/3/1913, and her second was to Michael Jennings 7/17/1918.

I have had no luck locating birth records, I sent for Olga's cert but it came back unable to locate.

Does Olga's death record or the cemetery record where she is buried offer any clues?

Is this her

Thats the wrong Olga, mine is at Find A Grave Memorial# 78816635. I have her death cert and it lists the father as Unknown and mother as Christine Anderson.

I just found Hannahs Marriage cert, and it lists Christines maiden name as Olson. I cant make out her fathers name but I think its Chas Anderson.

Chas for Charles I think you are right there. Maybe someone else can read.

Glad you found that.

What about Victor - did he marry?

I don't know much about Victor. I'm still scouring the WA digital archives, I know from the 1910 and 20 census that his middle initial is W, but thats the best I've got.

I have a copy of Hannah Sorenson's death certificate and it shows her father's name as Carl Anderson and her mother's name as Christine Olson. Hannah's birthdate is shown as Dec 10, 1888 and her death date as April 15, 1955. She died in a Sunset Rest home in Gig Harbor, WA. That information is only as good as what the informant thinks is correct. THe informant is Mrs Trummert, her niece. She may not have know for sure his name was Carl. I also have Hannah and Chris's marriage certificate and Hannah's father's name sure looks like Chas. on that document. I have Hannah's obituary from the Tacoma News Tribune and there is no mention of parents names in that. I found her grave site at New Tacoma Cemeteries. I have a picture if you would like me to post it.

Cynthia;

Thanks for the response, I would like to get the death cert, the obit, and the grave pic! you can post or email.

Thanks!

Josh

Josh,

I am new to this website and I am also computer illiterate.

I scanned the docs in and i tried to post them but it says the files are too big. so then i tried to post just one and it is still too big.

Can you tell me how to post these or email these to you?

Thanks

cindy

Cindy;

Whats your connection to Hannah?

Josh

marriage. (that is why i don't have a lot of info on the Anderson's.)

Her husband, Chris Sorenson is my ancestor. He is my first cousin 2x removed. His dad and my great-grandfather were brothers. They immigrated to Washington Territories together from Denmark in 1886.
