I think I may have answered my own question in a way, I got to Ireland and ran into a brick wall, so now is the time to "branch" out and yes hopefully there will be some clues there !

"Sounds like a good idea. A break away from what is causing you a problem may be the best thing. Do some other research and then maybe go back to your brickwall a little later. I do know how frustrating Irish Research is.

It has been my pleasure and also my good luck that I have joined Looking4Kin, I am looking forward to the weekend so I can post things on the Australian and hopefully be able to help people as I have been helped....Thank You !!
Once again Thank you for your help. I read your naming patterns blog and I realise that it may not always be the case but it would actually make searching easier, at least you have a common thread to look for. I am going to keep it in mind for future searches.
Hi Chris answer to your message you sent me.
Only ones I can say for sure are.
James Kenedy Christening 4th March 1795.
Elisabeth Kenedy Christening 6th March 1797.
Jean Kenedy Christening 24th July 1799.
What you need to do now is find their marriages & then on the Scottish census records this will confirm if the marriages are correct.
Mind you thats if they didnt die before 1st Census, sorry cant help with Scottish census as I dont have access to them, but sure there will be somebody that will.
