Profile Information

Names I Research & their locations

A Little About Me
I grew up in Ash Grove Township in Franklin County, NE. I taught ag education for 29 years and then the last 10 years as an ag extension educator for the University of Nebraska. My paternal great grandfather Suntke Lienemann came to America from Holtrip Germany. He married Elizabeth Moomey, daughter of Mary Ann Stockton Moomey and Jacob Moomey from Sangamon Co., Illinois. My maternal great grandfather was Johann Focken (John Folke) Janssen Osterbuhr from Strackholt Germany who married Margaret (Margaretha) Christine Miller from Keokuk Junction, Illinois. Both sides of the family settled in Franklin County, NE.
I got started researching my family history ......
After my mother died. She left me with a box of material and a challenge to continue what she started.
How long have you been doing genealogy?
15 years
My biggest brick wall?
Finding and confirming the parents and siblings of George D. Stockton, born approximately 1799 in Kentucky, who married Harriet Rankin and later moved to Sangamon Co., Illinois. Also having trouble with ancestry of Suzanna Myers, born about 1823, died in Sangamon Co, Illinois about 1873. She was married to Joseph Moomey who was born about 1817 and died in Bourbon Co., Kansas in 1899.
