Kudos - Right Track

Encouraging people to succeed, by providing hints and answers, is so much more satisfying then congratulating people who have already succeeded.  Your help, Hill, Carolyn,Alpobc, bcrick, Just M, Dae and Jayne, and everyone who has given me thebenefit of their experiences, ensures that even if I’m on the right track, Iwon’t be run over by just sitting there (Will Rodgers). Thank You All.EllenSee More

Austria or Ukraine records?

My grandparents were born in Paniwci, Galacia, Ukraine.  However, at the time of my grndf's birth Austria had conquered the Ukraine.  Does anyone know if I should try to find family records via Austrian archives or the Ukraine?  M grndf was born in 1871.  The church of his village was destroyed and no other records are available according to the Ukrainian Embassy when Ukraine gained its indpendance.I look forward to any advise you may have to offer.Thank you, Ellen…See More

Immigrants from Europe and UK during silver and gold rushes n.ontario

Northern Ontario, from the Cobalt Siver Mine rush in 1903 to the Gold Rushes that followed to the 1960s, became the destination of 1000s of immigrants from Europe and the UK and Ireland.  It also was the destination of many Canadians as the money was a draw.  I would be willing to research for any tombstones(take pics), obits, in the Timiskaming and Cochrane District.EllenSee More
