Heinrich's father was Johannes Bernhard Eisele born 1739, and mother was Margaretha Bader.Hoping someone from the area might be able to help. Thanks, Gay…See More
"Welcome Gabrielle, Love to hear what part of the Kingshott family you arise from. Do tell. Very interesting history. John Kingshott who was transported out in 1831 was my 4th. great grandfather. Gay Skinner"
Hi, I am trying to find out the family of Kingshott's who came to SA from Victoria. I am related to the Kingshott's that originated in Tasmania and one branch came over to Broadmeadows in Victoria. From there, someone went over to Adelaide. Another far flung member of the Kingshott family in England is doing a very large capture of genealogy, particularly in Australia for that family and has requested I try and locate them. Can anyone help? Gay of Melbourne…See More
"Thanks David, I will read the British history report you sent me. I have struck one seemingly absurd time difference in my tree, but it turned out his first wife died and he sired a child with a much younger 2nd wife! No doubt…"
Thank you for your quick reply. I checked through my Pescod tree and added Ellen. I had everything else right. I looked at the pedigree and will try to download it. I had also read the British history report…"
Hi, Hoping you can help me.I'm wondering if you have a record of a marriage between a John Pescod and ? John was born at Newton Valence (nr. Selbourne I think) Hampshire in1480. He would have married in the early 1500's. His family lived in the area for a long time. He had 4 children - Nicholas, Ann, John and Thomas.GaySee More
It appears that we're on the right trail. I am wondering now whether Robert Bettesworth who married Dennise Martyn is the father of the Robert Bettesworth that married Alice Avery? Are you able to find that out??? It…"
"Hi Fran, I was trailing through the Kingshott letters here and wondered whether you had found out about the Brookers yet? If you haven't, I can tell you that Matilda Brooker 's family came from Berkshire England, and the father was Elijah…"
Yes, he was the son of John. He was born 1831 in Greatham, married Mary Ann Morgan (Hay) 6th Oct. 1855. Francis died 10th Feb 1900.

I forgot to say before that I have basic family tree info on the Kingshotts going back to 1580 if you would like to fill in any details. It's still a work in progress, but at least enjoyable work! They came from W. Sussex…"
A correction there. John Kingshott came out on the Proteus, to VDL but remained in VDL and during his 7 yrs, was apprenticed as a blacksmith. When he served his time, his wife, Mary and children were allowed to…"
"Hi Elayne and Irene,

John Kingshott b. 1 Jan 1792 at Petersfield, Greatham, Hampshire. He died 8 May 1866 at O'Briens Bridge, Glenorchy Tas. Mary, his wife was born 1802 somewhere in…"
I got started researching my family history ......
Because of curiosity over the history in my family, also I was the youngest of 7 children 10 years after the 6th. child, and I didn't think to ask! There is just my brother who now lives in Surrey UK and myself in Australia, all of us born in Tasmania. found some convicts/pioneers who were sent to Tasmania, and marvelling at the hardship they had to endure.
I have been doing genealogy since ....
3 years seriously, but on and off for many years out of curiosity.
We all have them - my biggest brick wall is .......
Germany - by far. My ancestors came out to Tasmania in 1855 because of the drought in Germany. They came from Stetten im Remstal.
the other problem is with ancestors who named their first son after the father, or named a later child after an earlier child's name who had died. And another! Trying to find the father and mother of Thomas Kingshott/Kinget b. 1722 in West Sussex who married Ann Bailey/Bayly 17/12/1752 b.1721 who I think came from Fernhurst , Sussex. They had a son Francis b. 1753 in Greatham, Hampshire UK.
By joining Looking 4 Kin I hope to .....
Uncover the mysteries of my heritage, and leave this information for my grandchildren and their children to understand their roots.
