Kingshott family of S A

Hi, I am trying to find out the family of Kingshott's who came to SA from Victoria. I am related to the Kingshott's that originated in Tasmania and one branch came over to Broadmeadows in Victoria. From there, someone went over to Adelaide. Another far flung member of the Kingshott family in England is doing a very large capture of genealogy, particularly in Australia for that family and has requested I try and locate them. Can anyone help? Gay of Melbourne…See More

Profile Information

A Little About Me
Having a ball in my retirement researching family history to make into a book for my descendents. Love golf, the gym, walking and painting - large acrylics and water colours.
Names I Research & their locations .... (please be specific here)
Kingshott, Webster, Clarke, Skinner, Oakley-UK
Eisele, Eiszele, -Germany
Gartlany, Lambert - Ireland
I got started researching my family history ......
Because of curiosity over the history in my family, also I was the youngest of 7 children 10 years after the 6th. child, and I didn't think to ask! There is just my brother who now lives in Surrey UK and myself in Australia, all of us born in Tasmania. found some convicts/pioneers who were sent to Tasmania, and marvelling at the hardship they had to endure.
I have been doing genealogy since ....
3 years seriously, but on and off for many years out of curiosity.
We all have them - my biggest brick wall is .......
Germany - by far. My ancestors came out to Tasmania in 1855 because of the drought in Germany. They came from Stetten im Remstal.
the other problem is with ancestors who named their first son after the father, or named a later child after an earlier child's name who had died. And another! Trying to find the father and mother of Thomas Kingshott/Kinget b. 1722 in West Sussex who married Ann Bailey/Bayly 17/12/1752 b.1721 who I think came from Fernhurst , Sussex. They had a son Francis b. 1753 in Greatham, Hampshire UK.
By joining Looking 4 Kin I hope to .....
Uncover the mysteries of my heritage, and leave this information for my grandchildren and their children to understand their roots.
