ZENSZ Family of Unterampfrach

I am researching my ancestors who came from the village of Unterampfrach in Franken, Bavaria.  My ancestor Christoph Matthias Zenß (1736-1812) was a stone mason in the village and I know that he then became a builder, building houses in the village.  I am not sure if he was born in the village.  His son Johann Matthias Zenß (1783-1844) was also a stonemason, being born and died in Unterampfrach. His daughter, Marie Elisabethe (1817-1899) had three children believed by Michael Rögner who was the…See More

A Little About Me
I have been researching my German and Bavarian ancestors for over ten years now and have visited the villages, Grävenwiesbach, Grünberg and Frankfurt where the German ancestors came from and Unterampfrach where the Bavarian Zensz family came from. I know a bit of German and would love to find out more about my ancestors.
Names I Research & their locations .... (please be specific here)
Vogt, Gravelius, Zensz,Karst
I got started researching my family history ......
When reading my Mother's life story where she mentioned that her parents shared the same grandmother. That intriqued me.
I have been doing genealogy since ....
Probably about twelve years now
We all have them - my biggest brick wall is .......
Finding out where records in Germany are kept for certain villages. I would love to find death certs. for 2 x great grandparents who died in 1890s but cannot find where they would be kept for the village of Grävenwiesbach, Hesse
By joining Looking 4 Kin I hope to .....
connect to like minded people, especially those researching the same names
