I got started researching my family history ......
Being adopted automatically puts you on a quest to find out who you are and where you come from. Its a pretty strong energy. As I got older it was time to do something about it.
I have been doing genealogy since ....
1 WHOLE YEAR (But I am very good *lol)
We all have them - my biggest brick wall is .......
Finding out my direct MASTEN line and how I fit into it was challenging but in the end I did it, with some help of course from some very good people. If you are the type of person that doesnt like to ask questions and think they can do it on thier own....this type of science might not be your thing

Well, the only thing I know; is Sarah was born in Fredericton, NB, and her father is supposedly Daniel Campbell of Scotland. She married Nathan Augustus Higgins in St. John in 1840's.
She is my Great Great Great Grandmother.
I am trying to track down her son's birth record; Nathan Augustus Higgins (II) b. 1864 in St. John. He Married Sarah Ann Kyle (d/o John A. Kyle of Ireland & Elizabeth J. Ray of NB); they then moved to Cambridge, MA by 1890.

Hi Richie! Welcome!

Yeah, I've been hanging out here for a while and I'd chalk it up as one of the best places so far....Small but growing and the people canbe really helpful...the best part...;)

Masten line eh? Are they Dutchess Mastens? You may have seen my brickwall....which Jane most likely shares unless she knows something I don't yet... I see I have to update my families I'm researching as I thought I had figured out who Elizabeth was, but subsequent information has negated that somewhat... I've recently run across a Gilbert MAsten or two in east Dutchess too! Are those yours?

Are you tied into Kingston lines? I ask because the idea recently occured to me that pe4rhaps I'm looking in the wrong direction and should be looking to Connecticut rather than Kingston...

Looks as if you're familiar with the migration up to Canada as well by the loyalists... I've wondered if that might contribute to my brickwall a bit...

Thanks for stopping by and ttyl...

Have a great day! - CRC
