Skant37 said… Hi Zillah,
I've looked at my tree, and I think the John Bettesworth that married Elizabeth you gave me is a bit young for marriage as he was born in 1579. (though this has filled in another hole! Thank you). They were definitely married in 1598. My puzzle is, did she also have the Bettesworth name (another branch of the family in Rogate) or what was her name?? They could have married in Stedham or Rogate. I am trying to tie the two families if possible. They lived within 5 -7 miles apart and surely there were crossovers of cousins, don't you think?
Another one for you, a Robert Bettesworth married an Alice Avery in 1620/1 and had a child, Jane. I would love to find out what line he came from was the Rogate or Stedham line. I hope this isn't asking too much. I get frustrated in not being over there to search for myself! You might even be able to tell me where I can search this one myself. Mysteries galore. You are very kind to do this for people.

Carolyn said… Hey Zillah, I noticed on Peake's profile page that you were having her look for some Brogdens in Canada. Were they in Ontario? I have some Brogdens from Lancashire that came to Ontario and then west to Alberta. Wondering if they might be the same (or at least related).
